The English Manner is hosting a webinar, ‘How to Become an Etiquette Coach’, where you will be given a taster on what it is like to embark on a fulfilling and rewarding career as an etiquette coach.

Etiquette is crucial in today’s society, and the demand for etiquette coaches is rising. For those of you who are intrigued about the world of etiquette and good manners and wonder if this could be the career for you, this webinar will outline:

  • What does an average day look like
  • What skills do you need to become an etiquette coach
  • The training required to become a respected etiquette coach
  • How to specialise in a particular niche

The webinar will be hosted by William Hanson, the UK’s leading etiquette expert and Director of The English Manner, who will discuss his career journey and offer practical advice for those starting out on their own paths or those who want to take their career to the next step.

This webinar would be of most benefit to:

  • Those who are interested in a career as an etiquette coach or trainer and want to understand more about becoming a professional etiquette trainer

Train the Trainer etiquette course syllabus

The six examined modules and bonus module are taught using the online classroom over six months. For the full outline of the course and detailed information on each module, request a brochure here.

Module 1: Interpersonal Skills

The first module in Grade One focuses on the skills between people and includes meeting and greeting, conversational skills, introduction precedence and eye contact. This is an essential foundation to grow your knowledge of etiquette and good manners.

Module 2: Deportment and Posture

Our second module focuses on the body and how we sit, stand, walk and move; and what that says about our confidence and comportment. In business and social situations, deportment and good posture will ensure that you promote the best first impression.

Module 3: Dining Etiquette

Always the most popular module (as well as being the longest!).  Candidates will learn the rules of British and American dining, alongside useful information about European and Asian dining. It includes rules around setting the table and how it differs in the UK compared to other countries.

Module 4: Afternoon Tea

With afternoon tea becoming more popular in recent years, we now turn our attention to a very British pastime, but one with global appeal. Candidates are taught how to prepare and drink tea, set the table for tea, as well as the rich social history behind afternoon tea.

Module 5: Dress Codes

The fifth module outlines the rules and guidelines for formal Western dress, including white tie, black tie, morning dress, lounge suits and smart casual. Advice is also given on social and professional attire. This module will leave students with a strong understanding of what attire is suitable for a range of different occasions.

Module 6: Business Protocol

The examined training concludes with this module, where candidates are taught the rules and nuances of global business etiquette, including emails, corporate entertaining and business travel.

Bonus Module

Candidates are advised by William and Myka, their etiquette course leaders, on how to teach etiquette and protocol in today’s marketplace. Learn from industry leaders how to work with venues and suppliers, teach adults versus children, structure lessons and much more.
