Event Protocol and Planning - By Word of Mouth

"For over 25 years, Alexandra Messervy has produced some of the most polished and glamorous events in Britain and abroad for a select number of companies, individuals and charities and has developed a reputation for original and innovative events..."

Blenheim palace

What truly defines a great host? Is it the quality of their surroundings, the china, glassware and linens, culinary delights, the diversity of the guest list - or simply the ability to put guests at ease?

For over 25 years, Alexandra Messervy has produced some of the most polished and glamorous events in Britain and abroad for a select number of companies, individuals and charities and has developed a reputation for original and innovative events using only the most exclusive venues, the finest florists, lighting and purveyors of sound and entertainment, the most sought after caterers, and the most professional staff.

The art of hosting a truly magnificent event does not necessarily mean extravagance: instead, very careful planning and attention to detail, based on the traditions of British hospitality etiquette.

A brief list of suppliers is maintained and constantly updated on our database, together with access to some of the most celebrated venues across the world. Our team can assist with the protocol of planning an event, whether it is a business dinner party, private luncheon, country wedding or a corporate Banquet for 500 guests.

We will offer advice and practical assistance in every respect - from putting together a guest list, sending invitations and arranging seating plans, to assistance with dress codes and formalities.

Too often the attention of hosts is overtaken by more important issues and there is little advice handed out on the 'correct way' to handle an event. With The English Manner nothing is too much trouble in our quest to ensure that events are spectacular and the protocol of choreography unsurpassed.

An event with The English Manner will guarantee conversation between guests and the peace of mind of the host.

Services We Offer

Kensington Palace Event

The English Manner can help you to create the event you want, either as protocol consultants or by arranging the entire occasion.

Unlike many other event planners, The English Manner is not tied to any subcontractor and we are therefore able to tailor our choice of supplier to any taste and budget.

Alexandra Messervy lends her wealth of experience in orchestrating Royal, commercial, charitable and private events, creating unusual or breathtaking occasions founded on British social traditions but always incorporating up to the minute touches in some of the most spectacular venues across the world.

The English Manner has been awarded four stars for excellence from the local authority

Combe Florey Kitchen

Treacle SpongeCombe Florey Kitchen is part of the Event Planning division of The English Manner and was born from a deep-seated passion for entertaining and good food, and the belief in promoting local produce. There is, in our view, an acute need to conserve traditional farming methods and special breeds and we work wherever possible with local farmers and suppliers, sourcing products on a seasonal basis to create a range of dishes for a wedding for 100 guests to a family supper for 4.

We all need to tighten our belts and restaurants can be impersonal and expensive, so why not join the trend for dining at home? Combe Florey Kitchen offers delicious, home-cooked food using local seasonal ingredients, delivered directly to suit you. Ready to cook or to serve in the finest china and glassware, with full cooking instructions or a fully staffed cooking and waitress service for home or office. Menus start at £17.95 per head for three courses, whether you call upon our services for a formal dinner party, casual supper, a house party or a sumptuous wedding.
